THE MANY HATS I WORE

The Many Hats I Wore: My Journey in Education

You know, when I look back at my journey in education, it’s like flipping through a rich, layered story where every chapter built on the last.

It all started as a Teacher, where I stood at the front of the classroom with a passion to inspire and empower students. Those early years were all about creativity, adaptability, and learning how to design lessons that truly resonated with diverse learners. It’s where my love for building impactful learning experiences took root.

Then came my role as a Department Head. Suddenly, I was leading teams, developing instructional strategies, and ensuring our curriculum aligned across various subjects. It was a crash course in collaboration, strategic planning, and leadership. More importantly, it taught me how to bring together different voices and perspectives to create cohesive, effective learning experiences.

But my journey didn’t stop there. Stepping into the world of Educational Consulting opened up exciting new possibilities. I worked with schools and organizations to assess their unique needs, provide strategic guidance, and support their efforts to enhance their teaching and learning approaches.

My expertise as a Curriculum Developer came into play when I designed entire curricula from scratch for international schools and transitioning schools. It was about more than just writing lessons—it was about crafting learning outcomes, developing units that embraced cultural responsiveness, and making sure everything aligned with rigorous standards while remaining relevant to diverse learners.

As an Instructional Designer, I turned those big ideas into interactive, engaging experiences. My focus was always on promoting critical thinking, inclusivity, and creating learning environments that truly empowered students to thrive.

And as a Course Designer, I tied it all together—merging theory, strategy, and creativity into practical, user-friendly guides and resources that teachers could confidently implement. It was incredibly fulfilling to see my work come to life and support educators in providing high-quality education.

Every hat I wore added depth to my skills, broadened my perspective, and strengthened my passion for designing meaningful learning experiences. Each role shaped me into the educator and consultant I am today. And I can't wait to bring this wealth of experience to help others create powerful, transformative educational experience.
